Below you will find our list of FREE themed walking trips. Take a minute to note the walk or walks that you’re interested in before you register. If you are wanting to go on two or possibly three walks, please be aware of travel time between trips. All trips will loop back to their starting location.

Join Councilman Albus Brooks for a casual stroll through District 8 soon after we kick-off our NE Walk Fest. This is a great opportunity to engage with Councilman Brooks while enjoying the community. This will be family friendly route so bring the kids! Participants interested in collecting data should bring an internet connected device (smartphone) or a camera to take photos in order to fully participate in the walk audit fun. This volunteer-led nonprofit works to build sustainable food systems in North Park Hill and the surrounding neighborhoods. We will meet at the Hub in Stapleton (right behind Cycleton) and head to multiple unique retail districts in Park Hill.  From the Hub we will head south into the Fred-Thomas Park and then towards the Park Hill neighborhood.  Once we head into Park Hill it’s a short walk to local community restaurants and shopping at 23rd Ave & Oneida as well as 23rd Ave & Kearney.  We will check out places such as Cake Crumbs, the Park Hill Vet, the Art Garage and many more.  On the way back we will walk down E29th Ave’s Towncenter for a look at the local eateries and shops right here next to the Hub where we started. Questions: Eric Herbst, eherbst (at) stapletonfoundation (dot) org | 20 person capacity

Learn about the high-flying past of North Park Hill, which hosted three separate airports all before Stapleton had its first flight. We’ll walk by one such old airport site, with two hangars still occupied, linking Charles Lindbergh, Lowry Air Force Base, Lear Jet and Apollo 13’s Jack Swigert. Please join WalkDenver along one of five, thirty minute trips to collect walkability data of the Holly Square area. All trips begin at the Walkdenver booth where participants will receive training on how to use WALKscope, an online pedestrian data collection tool. Participants interested in collecting data should bring an internet connected device (smartphone) or a camera to take photos in order to fully participate in the walk audit fun.
